hotmulatto: Love that moniker! Yes I agree with your line of reasoning. Ballroom is very specific dancing, and MYA had no appreciable experience with it – she clearly was the best ballroom dancer and the best dancer, period. I have heard, and I believe this is true, that many thought MYA was a pro, therefore, she should not win. Which is probably a rationalization for voting for Donny or Kelli when they clearly saw MYA as the Best dancer. Bottomline: MYA gets screwed and the Show [forgetaboutit]

Tons of stars on this season and past seasons have had dance experience, and some (like DONNY) have had BALLROOM experience. But none have been blasted as hard as Mya, who’s experience is pretty much just tap and hip hop (which are nothing like Ballroom, even in the fundamentals). So no, she did not have an unfair advantage. But even if she did, it’s not against the rules. After all, it’s called “Dancing With the Stars”, not “Dancing With the Beginner/ Intermediate Stars”. ;)

Its curious, apparently many believed that Mya should not have been invited onto the show – she was a pro dancer. Where do you draw the line on this? Do you allow stars with some dance or not? What about Kristi Yamaguchi? Mya was so obviously the best dancer that, in the end, with her losing it is perceived that the show is wrong and dance in general is given a bad name. Please comment!
